Sweet Taste of Friday.

Friday, February 18, 2011

When you think of cookie what comes to mind?  Crunchy? Sweet? Gooey? Warm? Well I am sure we all have our own interpretation of what a cookie should be, and of course I love the old fashioned grandma's best, but today I was in search for an aesthetically pleasing cookie.  After doing some research I found a talented baker and artist in Philly with not only wonderful cookie designs but cupcakes and cakes that were the eye candy I was looking for.

Happy Friday!

Romantic Recipes: Happy Valentines Day my Loves!!

Monday, February 14, 2011

Ahh, the day of love! While flowers are being cut, chocolates are being bought, and love letter are being written, you can usually find me in my kitchen.  My fiance and I have celebrated the past few years celebrating Valentines day with food.  We love the idea of cooking our own meal and enjoying the dishes we prepare together at home. My idea of romance is sharing something I love with the person I love.  I sincerely have a love and passion for food, so it goes without saying that FOOD is the center of our home. Here are a few romantic recipes I found on marthastewart.com that you might like.

Travel Journal: When in Austin...

Thursday, February 10, 2011

AUSTIN HAS MY <3
I am happy and pleased to be posting and supporting my favorite city in the United States...Austin, Texas. As often as I frequent Austin, this was by far the best foodie and hotel experience I have had. There is something about Austin that inspires and warms my soul.  The people, the scene, the food, and the "weirdness".  Having lived in Austin for three years,  I developed a love and respect for this eclectic town, and to this day I haven't been able to shake the heartbreak I feel when my weekend trips conclude.  Here's to you, my heartbreak town!

Travel Journal: When in Italy...

Monday, January 17, 2011

Imagine yourself pulling up to a tiny island with bustling convertible taxis, colorful sail boats, gelaterias on every corner, cream colored shops with names like Ferragamo to Balenciaga, and the best food and views the Gulf of Naples has to offer.  My friends, welcome to Capri, Italy.  I had the pleasure of visitng this little piece of heaven for the second time last May while attending my best friends wedding.  While it was probably the most beautiful wedding I have ever been apart of, the laughter and memories we made during our stay on this magical island made it ten times more special. I cannot say enough about the hospitality, the warmth, and generosity the people of Capri showed us.  My words certainly could never capture the true beauty of Capri, so here are a few pictures taken by the sweetest photog ever, Glenna Harding. www.glennahardingphotography.com
 Ciao!  Recommendations to follow.

Cool Tidbit: You can rent these cool vintage looking boats to take guided tours around the island. They also offer your group wine and cheese while you are gazing at the beautiful scenery!

Food Recommendations:
La Grotelle- offers one of the best views of the island and has amazing pizza and wine!  They do a fantastic job with accommodating large groups. You feel like you are walking into your grandmothers kitchen, but with amazing views and outdoor dining.

da Paolino- Have dinner under the famous lemon trees of Capri.  Beautiful and romantic, this is a great spot and a must see.

Villa Verde- Another exceptional spot, where you should keep an eye out for celebrities.  This is favorite among the rich and famous.  Villa Verde offers traditional Italian favorites, yummy seafood, fresh produce and great service.  A great spot for a casual lunch or dinner.
